I was recently sent Mahogany Queen hair butter to use and review. Here are my thoughts on the product.
Product Name: Mahogany Princess Hair Butter
Availability: Products can be purchased online here.
Product Description: Mahogany Princess Hair Butter was created for young girls with natural hair. As a believer in self love, it’s important for me to show women and young girls how to love and care for their natural tresses naturally. This butter is great for twists, sets, puffs and overall moisture and sheen. With its fruity fragrance, your princess will immediately fall in love with it.
Ingredients: shea butter, grapeseed oil, avocado butter, sunflower oil, olive oil
Scent: Fruity and nutty.
Consistency: Hard but melts in your hand on contact.
My Experience: I really like this shea whip. It’s smooth and creamy. I used it on my skin and it went on smooth and kept my skin moisturized throughout the day. I also carried it in my purse and applied it throughout the day after I washed my hands. I like the scent because it doesn’t only smell like shea butter and the scent is not overwhelming yet I can definitely smell the other ingredients. When I used it in my hair it reminded me of the Coco Curls shea whip which I am in love with.
Pros: A little goes a long way and it left my hair soft and shiny. It kept its solid form even in room temperature which means it would be easy to travel with. Some solid natural products melt depending on the temperature which means you have to put them in a TSA-approved bag – this one would be fine in your suitcase or carry-on.
Cons: It is only available in one size and can only be purchased online.
Final Thoughts: If I had a daughter I would definitely use this in her hair. I used it for a few weeks and it was wonderful. Mahogany Queen was gracious enough to provide Curls and Mo friends with a discount! If you’re interested, please check the site out and take advantage of the 30% off.
