Friday’s 5 Loves: Top 5 Skincare Add-Ons

Friday LovesA few weeks ago I shared “Top 5 Daily CLEAR SKIN Products”. These are the products I use every single day to maintain my clear skin. While these are my essentials, there are a few other products that I use throughout the month to keep my skin looking its best.

www.curlsandmo.com lemon waterWater. I know. This should have been included on my first list. But, truthfully water is the number one ingredient. I drink as much water as possibly every day. I rarely drink juice and keep all other liquids to a minimum. It has made a big difference in my skin.

olay regeneristOlay Regenerist Microdermabrasion & Peel System. The Olay microdermabrasion system is really great for diminishing dark spots. When I first started using it my skin was cray cray (yes, I wrote that) and I used it a lot more frequently. Now I use it a few times a month and I find that it still works but because it works so well I don’t have to use it as frequently. Check out my video review here and my written review here to get an in-depth understanding of how to use it and tips.

curlsandmo.com Deep-Down-Detox-Ultra-Cleansing-Mud-MaskFormula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox Cleansing Mask. This mask is great for minimizing pores, cutting down on oil production (oil control) and extracting toxins from your skin. I reviewed it here. I don’t use it every week but whenever my skin seems to need a bit more TLC I’ll throw it on when I get home.

curlsandmo.com shea moisture even tone cremeShea Moisture Shave For Women Coconut And Hibiscus Even Skin Tone Creme. I have been using this lotion for a while now. I raved about it in this video and I still love it. It also helps reduce any dark spots. I usually use it at night after I cleanse and tone. It’s really thick so a little goes a long way but it doesn’t clog your pores. I’m assuming since it’s from the “Shave” line I could use it on my bikini line. Hmmm…

curlsandmo.com ponds anti wrinklePond’s Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream. During a recent Target trip I discovered this Pond’s cream – isn’t that how ALL new products are found? Smh – and I decided to try it. While I’m fortunate enough NOT to have wrinkles yet, I am going to start taking some preventive measures. The cream is really hydrating and moisturizing. When I remember to use it, my under eye area does look more alive and awake in the morning.

What are your beauty must-haves? Have you tried anything new lately? Please share below.

Friday’s 5 Loves: Top 5 Daily CLEAR SKIN Products

Friday LovesHappy Friday, beauties! For the past few years I suffered from adult acne. Up until my early twenties I rarely had a pimple – so it was quite devastating for me. Now that I feel like I have gotten it under control I want to share what has worked for me. These aren’t the ONLY products I use but these are the Continue reading

Review: Shea Radiance Black Soap

curlsandmo.com shea radiance black soapThis past Christmas I won a huge gift set (below) from Shea Radiance. There had to be at least one of every Shea Radiance sample in that box. I’m happy I finally have time to dig into these other goodies. Continue reading

Friday’s 5 Loves 4.19.13

Friday LovesMy heart goes out to the victims in Boston and Texas. I pray that God will heal the hearts of any and everyone directly affected.  This week definitely flew by but I was reminded how blessed I am. I re-grouped a bit and re-assessed what it is I want to do with and for Curls and Mo. You ladies Continue reading

Friday’s 5 Loves 3.29.13

Friday LovesI’m so sorry I haven’t shared my 5 favorite things for a few weeks. I’ve just been in such a rut lately and I honestly don’t know why. Wednesday was the first time in a little while that I felt 100% like myself and was “hungry”. Hungry for more. Hungry for life. Hungry for Curls and Mo…if that makes any sense. My urge to push Curls and Mo was renewed and I worked on a few things I had been neglecting like Curly Card Night. Here are the things I loved this week… Continue reading

Which Beauty Subscription Girl Are You?

Beauty Subscriptions have become very popular recently and a new one seems to pop up every few months. Beauty Subscriptions are a service for which you pay and receive products monthly, the type of products you receive depends on the service you sign up for. These Subscriptions are great because they allow you to try different products without having to pay full price to try products you may not like. And, if you’re a novice like me you can also try products from companies you are probably unfamiliar with. An added bonus is that the value of the products each month is usually greater than your monthly fee so you get more “bang for your buck”. Another great thing is that you’re not bound to purchase a box each month; you can skip any month you want, cancel anytime and even gift a month to someone else.

I currently have a monthly subscription with Julep Maven, a nail polish subscription service. I’ve been a member for seven months. I love that Julep Maven is “4-free” (it doesn’t contain carcinogens formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene or DBP), the polishes are really creamy and smooth and a portion of all proceeds goes to organizations that empower women. I also love that my first box was a PENNY and I can cancel or skip any time. If you’re interested and want to get your first box for 1¢, click here and use the code PENNY.
