First Impressions: June CurlKit

CurlKitI was recently sent the June CurlKit from Good Girl PR. I haven’t used anything yet but I wanted to share my first impressions with my Curlistas.

IMG_20130828_170406_wmThe first thing I noticed was a new design and logo. While I have never ordered a CurlKit I’ve seen them before and I noticed the packaging was different. When I opened the box the first thing I saw was CurlLife: A CurlKit Pulication. The cover has a picture of a bride and several references to Continue reading

ManiMon: My First Revlon and a Sale

IMG_20130825_171154_wmThis past weekend I bought my first bottle of Revlon nail polish. While I heard a lot of great things about Revlon, I have a rule: never spend more than than 5 bucks on a drugstore nail polish. (Although, there IS an exception to the rule: essie. LOL. It’s is my favorite!) Continue reading

Friday’s 5 Loves: Top 5 Skincare Add-Ons

Friday LovesA few weeks ago I shared “Top 5 Daily CLEAR SKIN Products”. These are the products I use every single day to maintain my clear skin. While these are my essentials, there are a few other products that I use throughout the month to keep my skin looking its best.

www.curlsandmo.com lemon waterWater. I know. This should have been included on my first list. But, truthfully water is the number one ingredient. I drink as much water as possibly every day. I rarely drink juice and keep all other liquids to a minimum. It has made a big difference in my skin.

olay regeneristOlay Regenerist Microdermabrasion & Peel System. The Olay microdermabrasion system is really great for diminishing dark spots. When I first started using it my skin was cray cray (yes, I wrote that) and I used it a lot more frequently. Now I use it a few times a month and I find that it still works but because it works so well I don’t have to use it as frequently. Check out my video review here and my written review here to get an in-depth understanding of how to use it and tips.

curlsandmo.com Deep-Down-Detox-Ultra-Cleansing-Mud-MaskFormula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox Cleansing Mask. This mask is great for minimizing pores, cutting down on oil production (oil control) and extracting toxins from your skin. I reviewed it here. I don’t use it every week but whenever my skin seems to need a bit more TLC I’ll throw it on when I get home.

curlsandmo.com shea moisture even tone cremeShea Moisture Shave For Women Coconut And Hibiscus Even Skin Tone Creme. I have been using this lotion for a while now. I raved about it in this video and I still love it. It also helps reduce any dark spots. I usually use it at night after I cleanse and tone. It’s really thick so a little goes a long way but it doesn’t clog your pores. I’m assuming since it’s from the “Shave” line I could use it on my bikini line. Hmmm…

curlsandmo.com ponds anti wrinklePond’s Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream. During a recent Target trip I discovered this Pond’s cream – isn’t that how ALL new products are found? Smh – and I decided to try it. While I’m fortunate enough NOT to have wrinkles yet, I am going to start taking some preventive measures. The cream is really hydrating and moisturizing. When I remember to use it, my under eye area does look more alive and awake in the morning.

What are your beauty must-haves? Have you tried anything new lately? Please share below.

Mani Monday: The Perfect At-Home French

www.curlsandmo.com mani mon1 8.5.13Yes, I’ve neglected Mani Monday for a few weeks but I’m back. For real! I haven’t done a design in a while so last week I decided to try out one of the nail art brushes I purchased on ebay. I used to do French pedicures all the time – I’ve always had a steady hand – so I decided try a French manicure. I Continue reading

Natural Hair How-To: Fix Your Wack Conditioner

www.curlsandmo.com Fix Conditioner 1 (1)A while back I was in ULTA and I saw that güd conditioner was on sale. After hearing so many naturals rave about it I picked it up. I REALLY didn’t like it – it didn’t have any slip imo – so I gave it away. Then I picked up some Suave conditioner which also gets a lot of raves in the natural hair community. Continue reading

Mani Monday: “New” Julep May Box

IMG_20130708_182357Julep Maven is a monthly nail polish subscription service. I’ve been a member for a year and a half now.
